Starting its journey as a modest steel fabrication business, Thimark has grown into a respected leader in mechanical engineering and industrial manufacturing with a proven history of engineering excellence.
Thus, the company designs and manufactures a wide range of specialized equipment for multiple sectors such as water supply, hydropower, and building construction. Thimark’s engineering portfolio includes sludge scrapers, automated rotary trash screens, trash racks, and automated hydraulic trash cleaning systems, sluice gates, and penstock gates. In addition, the company is engaged in the production of industrial machinery, including pneumatic conveyors, dust bag filters, and other customized mechanical solutions.
With the evolving economic landscape of Sri Lanka and the increasing emphasis on technological localization, Thimark strategically expanded its capabilities into the manufacture of original equipment manufacturing (OEM) for local assembly. This initiative aligns with the government’s policy to promote local value addition and reduce reliance on imports. Capitalizing on its expertise in engineering and steel fabrication, Thimark quickly became a trusted partner for leading motorbike manufacturers in Sri Lanka seeking high-quality locally produced components.
Thimark’s capabilities have also gained international recognition. The company has expanded beyond Sri Lanka’s borders, successfully completing engineering projects in Africa, most notably in Kenya. In collaboration with the Kenya Electricity Generating Company (KenGen), Thimark designed and manufactured an automated trash-cleaning system, marking a major milestone in the company’s journey into advanced automation and intelligent engineering solutions.

A key milestone in our journey was our entry into the Original Equipment Manufacturing (OEM) sector, where we proudly collaborate with leading organizations such as David Pieris Motor Company Lanka Ltd (Bajaj), Senaro Motor Company (Pvt) Ltd (Senaro), and Ranatunga Motors (Pvt) Ltd (Ranomoto). Their trust in our expertise enabled us to contribute to Sri Lanka’s growing motorbike assembly industry.
Our journey of innovation extended beyond borders when we partnered with the Kenya Electricity Generating Company (KenGen) to design and manufacture an automated trash cleaning system marking our entry into the realm of industrial automation and sustainable engineering. This project was made possible through the unwavering support and trust of Mr. Martin Kiruthu, CEO of Varomatech Ltd, Kenya, the local supplier to KenGen.
